Closing conference of the „Social inclusion and improvement of living conditions of Roma and other vulnerable groups” project

The closing conference for the „Social inclusion and improvement of living conditions of Roma and other vulnerable groups” project took place on the 4th of June 2019, in Alba Iulia. In the opening of the conference, the participants attended a show prepared by the children from the social settlements of Alba Iulia Orthodox Archbishop – “Dance of Hope”, and visited an exhibition of pictures from the project. Mr. Roland Python, Head of the Swiss Contribution Office Romania, representatives of regional and local public authorities, of project partners and of the Filantropia Federation, addressed a few words.

During the discussions, the inter-institutional collaboration (NGOs, local and regional authorities, educational institutions, church) was highly appreciated, being considered essential for finding and implementing solutions to the various problems faced by vulnerable communities. The importance of education was also highlighted, taking into account its impact both on the mentality of future generations and on other areas (e.g. employment).
