Educational support for vulnerable children in Romania. Steps towards institutionalization.
Starting August 2019, HEKS/EPER Romania Foundation is implementing “Educational support for vulnerable children in Romania. Steps towards institutionalization.” project, in collaboration with the Orthodox Philanthropy Association Alba and Christian Foundation Diakonia Sfantu Gheorghe.
The project is focused on education. The overall objective of the project is to improve the social inclusion of the Roma communities (and other vulnerable groups) in the project region. On the education side, the proposed outcome is for the Roma children to be better integrated into the mainstream education system (their school enrolment and attendance to be higher and to have better educational results). The other proposed outcome is institutionalization of ASC for socially disadvantaged children, county or national wide. The main focus is given to strengthen the sustainability of the ASC after the end of the project and to continue to advocate to integrate and fund ASC in the Romanian education system.
