From March 12th until March 16th 2018, the third backstopping mission of two evaluators of the Zurich University of Teacher Education, Prof. Dr. Wiltrud Weidinger and Prof. Dr. h.c. Rolf Gollob, took place in Covasna, Harghita and Alba counties.
The backstopping mandate and evaluation included the analysis of the After-school program in three main dimensions: implementation of the programme, pedagogical and didactical aspects as well as quality assurance. The first three days were dedicated to field visits to the After-schools and Day centers from Covasna, Harghita and Alba counties. During these visits, the evaluators could observe how the program is implemented and talk with the children, the teachers and the psychologists involved in the program.
The second part of this backstopping mission was dedicated to a workshop for all the partner NGOs which are implementing the After-school program, attended by specialists from various fields: teachers, social workers, psychologists and program coordinators. The main topics addressed during the workshop were: evaluators’ feed-back after the visits, exchange of experiences regarding peer support groups and teachers’ portfolios between partners and the minimal standards, required for assuring a qualitative after-school program.
