Annual Workshops for Projects 942.403 and 942.424
On February 6 and 11, 2025, the annual workshops were held in Cluj-Napoca with the implementation partners of the projects aimed at the education and inclusion of disadvantaged youth:
- Inclusion of disadvantaged youth on the labor market in Romania (partners: Diakonia Christian Foundation Covasna, Association “Orthodox Philanthropy Alba”)
- From education to decent work, Sibiu County (partners: Open Fields Foundation, Association ”Orthodox Philanthropy Sibiu”)
During the workshops, we reviewed best practices, challenges encountered over the past year, and priorities for the current year. Although the projects are at different stages of implementation — the project in Covasna and Alba is in the final year of its second phase, while the one in Sibiu is in the first year of its second phase — both initiatives share many common elements, both in terms of activities and the target group.
A positive update is that both projects are progressing according to the established indicators. Additionally, the concrete steps for each indicator were reiterated, and details for key events throughout the year were set. Specifically, the project in Covasna and Alba is nearing completion, with the final evaluation and dissemination event scheduled for 2025.
Among the achievements of the projects for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years are:
- ✅ 2,712 middle school students counseled
- ✅ 1,263 students from vocational schools counseled
- ✅ 1,067 parents of middle school students counseled regarding career guidance for their children
- ✅ The transition from 8th to 9th grade for students in the target group for the 2023-2024 cohort increased by 10% compared to the baseline: 93.5% (Sibiu), and 95% (Covasna and Alba)
- ✅ teaching staff (including teachers, school counselors, and principals) trained in career counseling
