    • Farmers from GAL Crișul Negru on a Study Visit: Best Practices for a Competitive Agriculture 

    On Wednesday, May 30th, HEKS/EPER Romania Foundation organized a study visit in Cluj County as part of the project “Competitive Farmers in the GAL Crișul Negru Territory”. The event brought together 12 farmers from Căpâlna, Ceica, Holod, Sâmbăta, and Uileacu de Beiuș (Bihor County), eager to learn more about successful agricultural models and the benefits of cooperative membership and product certification. 

    Throughout the day, participants visited several agricultural initiatives in Cluj County that showcased good practices and concrete solutions to the challenges faced by farmers and cooperatives: 

    • Agro Transilvania Center and Lunca Someșului Mic Agricultural Cooperative – a strong example of effective producer group organization and accessing European funding; 
    • Sere Transilvania – a distributor of modern technologies for vegetable and horticultural farming; 
    • AgroCom Viișoara Cooperative (Cămară Vie) – a model of strategic investment in storage and packaging infrastructure; 
    • Luna Solai – a certified organic and traditional producer, who shared their journey toward certification and market integration. 

    The farmers had the opportunity to learn directly from the hosts about their development paths, lessons learned, challenges encountered, and solutions applied. The discussions were open, honest, and highly valuable, offering participants not only technical knowledge but also motivation and encouragement to further invest in their own agricultural businesses. 

    The visit is part of activity A.4 of the project, which promotes learning through direct exposure to successful examples, and supports the general objective of the initiative: enhancing the competitiveness of farmers in the GAL Crișul Negru territory through association, certification, and improved market access.
