Four years since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine

4 years of loss. 
4 years in which millions of people have been forced to leave their homes. 

But also 4 years in which we have witnessed something equally powerful: the strength of communities to organize, support one another, and move forward despite everything. 

At HEKS/EPER Romania, we have stood alongside people affected by the war, in both Ukraine and Romania. 

🇺🇦 In Ukraine, our response included cash and voucher assistance, food and essential non-food items, school supplies, psychological support, educational and recreational activities for children, and support through locally led initiatives (sclr). 

🇷🇴 In Romania, we supported Ukrainians through cash assistance, shelter and transport support, food and non-food distributions, fuel vouchers, medical consultations, psychological counselling, education and language courses, vocational training, labour market mediation, flexible grants to small NGOs supporting displaced Ukrainians, start-up grants, and SCLR initiatives led by Ukrainian community groups. 

Currently, we support the socio-economic inclusion of Ukrainians in Romania, fostering lasting employment, financial independence, and meaningful community participation. 

Today, we are not only marking four years since the start of the full-scale invasion; we also reaffirm our commitment to stand alongside affected communities.
