Last week, the HEKS/EPER Romania team had the pleasure to participate in an international “Training of Trainers” held in Palermo, organized by our partner CESIE ETS within the IMMERSED project, co-funded by the Social Innovation+ Initiative.
The training focused on psychological resilience of refugees as a first step toward building independence and sustainable employment. Participants had the opportunity to learn about good practices and experiences from various initiatives and countries, addressing topics such as art therapy and employability, war trauma treatment and support services, career orientation and intercultural sensitivity, HR staff training, and the role of cultural mediators.
We were delighted to meet our colleagues from the IMMERSED project from Poland and Slovakia, exchange on common challenges, and develop a shared vision of the next steps in project implementation.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our hosts at CESIE Palermo for the excellent organization and for sharing their valuable experience with us. We look forward to bringing these insights and good practices into our work to support Ukrainian refugees on their path toward social and professional inclusion.
