The Roma Civil Monitor project is carried out for the European Commission, Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers. It is coordinated by the Central European University (CEU) and implemented with the active participation of around 90 diverse NGOs from up to 27 EU member states.
The objective of the project is to contribute to strengthening the monitoring of the implementation of the national Roma integration strategies through systematic civil society monitoring.
As a member in a coalition of Romanian NGOs, HEKS/EPER Romania contributed in drafting a comprehensive civil society monitoring report with focus on the preconditions for successful implementation of national Roma integration strategies. The thematic chapters of the monitoring report are: governance and overall policy framework, anti-discrimination, addressing antigypsyism and impact of mainstream education policies on Roma. HEKS/EPER Romania was involved in drafting the chapter regarding the impact of mainstream education policies on Roma.
