We are pleased to announce that HEKS/EPER Foundation Romania, together with partners from Poland, Slovakia, and Italy, will implement the European project IMMERSED – a social innovation initiative aimed at supporting the professional, financial, and emotional integration of Ukrainian refugees in host countries.
Running from April 2025 to August 2026, IMMERSED seeks to develop and pilot an innovative integration model that combines professional, financial, and emotional support while fostering strong links with local communities. The intervention model is based on the quadruple helix approach, promoting collaboration among the public sector, private sector, academia, and civil society.
Activities will be piloted in Romania (Cluj-Napoca and Iasi), Poland (Warsaw and Katowice), and Slovakia (Žilina and Prešov), with the support of local and international partners. Romania will coordinate the professional integration and communication components of the entire project. The piloting, refinement, and dissemination of the model at national and transnational levels will be based on professional integration through individual coaching, emotional support, and financial education, as well as on social integration and the identification of actors providing complementary support who can collaborate synergistically.
IMMERSED project is financed by Social Innovation Initiative+, reflects a shared transnational effort and contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to decent work and reducing inequalities. It aligns closely with HEKS/EPER’s strategic priorities in the field of migration and has a total budget of 180,561 CHF.
