Job Announcement: Peer Coach, Part-Time, 6h/day
Who are we?
HEKS/EPER Romania has been supporting the Ukrainians seeking refuge in Romania since February 2022 through cash assistance, medical and psychological assistance, language and qualification courses, job search assistance etc.
We’re looking to join forces with a new colleague’s expertise, enthusiasm and influence in building self-reliance in the target group we serve, Ukrainians in Cluj. We bring local and international Human Resources expertise as well as technical, logistical and legal knowledge to the table in an effort to offer free coaching services to Ukrainians towards getting a first job or a better job in Cluj County. We offer free specialized support to Ukrainians on how to assess their needs and skills, how to build a plan and how to approach the Romanian labour market efficiently. We also offer free peer counselling to help build self-confidence, aspirations, job readiness, solutions for overcoming obstacles, job interview preparation and support throughout, side by side.
Ideal candidate:
- High proficiency in Romanian and Ukrainian (written and spoken).
- A genuine talent and interest to connect and guide people
- A natural public speaker, interested in taking initiative, an influencer with a good self-esteem
- A trusted advisor, a problem solver
- Someone who likes being popular but accepts being unpopular at times when important, sensitive things need to be said out loud
- A person with a history of professional success who is comfortable revealing difficult moments encountered when overcoming obstacles, a living example of a success story being built upon a a strategic approach
- A person that can bring comfort to people served at times of uncertainty and concern
- Previous professional or social experience in coaching, assisting and guiding people towards specific goals would be nice to have, but is not compulsory.
Responsibilities and tasks related to the job:
- Conduct individual career counseling sessions and support groups aiming at: promoting ambitious goals, fostering self-confidence, facilitating empowerment, aiding in decision-making, crafting immediate personal plans, surmounting challenges towards achieving self-reliance, and starting over a well-rounded, good life through employment and a supportive social network. This process brings satisfaction through the attainment of goals and the accompanying income.
- Offer after-employment support
- Raise awareness of the free career coaching services among the Ukrainian community in Cluj
- Organize employment interviews, assist with job fairs or training sessions, organize events, as needed.
- Act as a translator for the Ukrainian and Romanian employers or other people of concern.
