Expert-Trainer in Iasi, Romania – Part-Time, 50%
HEKS/EPER Romania Foundation, part of the global HEKS/EPER network who employs around 600 staff and operates in 25 locations in Switzerland and 30 countries worldwide. Guided by a vision of justice, dignity, peace, and sustainability, it runs over 380 programs focused on climate justice, land and food rights, asylum and migration, and inclusion, aligning with the UN’s Agenda 2030. The organization also provides humanitarian aid and advocates for systemic change. In 2023, HEKS/EPER reached approximately 16 million people. We are looking for a proactive and experienced employee to join us from 15.05.2025 as an Expert-Trainer in Iasi, as a member of the IMMERSED Project team.
Your main objectives and tasks:
Objectives:
- Creation of materials, as part of a team, for Coach (who will pilot them within the project for 7 months on 15 Ukrainian beneficiaries and employers in both the Cluj and Iasi locations), employers, partners (NGOs with complementary services, relevant institutions, and academic environment), and especially for Ukrainians to provide technical, emotional, and social support, and knowledge development on financial resources management during job search and job maintenance
- Identification of partners (NGOs, institutes, academia) for complementary services and scaling up, and organization of one mapping and networking event
- Organisation of 3 sessions of intercultural clubs (such as barters, seniors club, or others) where the local community supports each other with Ukrainian refugees, aiming to minimize cultural and language barriers in the workplace context (e.g. integration of Ukrainians in neighborhood clubs or offering small services in exchange for communication, help of the local community)
- Participation in mutual learning sessions and sharing of materials and competences to coaches implementing them together with Polish, Slovak and Italian partners
Tasks:
- Create thematic materials related to financial education and emotional well-being. The support will be provided by Polish and Italian partners, with expertise in financial education and emotional support
- Develop technical materials for job identification and job retention, together with the team, and supervise similar processes in Italy, Slovakia, and Poland
- Organize the partnerships, Discussion Clubs, and Mapping and Networking events, with social actors, in Iasi city, with support from the coach
- Creation of materials and expertise will be focused on well-being and emotional support, with the other 2 components (financial education and job search and maintenance) being mainly created in Cluj. The expert-trainer will only be involved in the local implementation of events
- Organize local dissemination of results and materials to ensure the project’s sustainability
To be successful you bring:
- Studies and experience in social work or psychology
- Experience in developing training and support materials
- Ideally, experience in employing Ukrainian refugees and liaising with employers or delivering counseling and emotional support
- Foreign languages: English B2/C1 is mandatory. Knowledge of Ukrainian/Russian is an advantage
What you can expect from us:
- A part-time (20h/week) determined contract between 15.05.2025-10.08.2026, in a multinational team located in 4 countries, working to support Ukrainian refugees’ resilience through a multilayered approach by sustainability of employment support and emotional and financial education.
- An approximate monthly salary of 8400 lei (gross)
This role can be combined with the Coach position, dedicated to directly supporting 15 Ukrainian refugees in the process of finding and keeping a job, based on the materials and methods learned with and from the Expert-trainer. The Coach position will act between November 2025 and March 2026. More information about this will be available soon.
