Job Announcement: Community Facilitator, Humanitarian Aid, Ukraine, Full-Time
We are looking to hire a Full-Time (8 hours) Community Facilitator in Uzhhorod and Mukachevo for a 4-month project.
The Community Facilitator is the front line for the implementation of the project portfolio, working on-site with the local community, partners and stakeholders. The role is focused on building relationships, facilitating opportunities and delivery of services to support the project beneficiaries. The community facilitator works collaboratively with the rest of the team on site.
The ideal candidate:
- Genuine concern and passion for improving the well-being of internally displaced people in Zakarpattia
- Based in Uzhhorod or Mukachevo.
- Great level of spoken and written English.
- Excellent level of spoken and written Ukrainian language.
- Excellent interpersonal/ communication skills.
- The ability to manage work independently but also as part of a team, time management skills, conflict resolution skills, organizational skills, trustworthiness, mental stability, attitude-behavior consistency and resistance to effort and stress.
- Previous work or volunteer work in an NGO is a great advantage.
- Availability to travel for work as often as needed.
- Clean driving license
- The ability to travel freely in the Zakarpattia region, taking into account the mobilization law.
Job description:
As a facilitator for community engagement your role is to support IDPs in local communities in Uzhhorod and Mukachevo regions through the entire process of applying and implementing sclr (survivor and community-led responses) grants to the benefit of their own community.
Your main responsibilities:
- Find initiative groups already supporting internally displaced people in the areas of concern that would be interested in applying for a sclr grant.
- Support initiative groups throughout the application and implementation process, as well as final narrative and financial reporting.
- Closely monitor the implementation of sclr initiatives – regular visits and constant communication using appropriate messaging apps.
- Contribute to the completion of a monthly report focusing on implementation progress and attend monthly meetings with HEKS/EPER Romania to discuss the results.
- Develop and maintain strong, functional relationships with all parties involved in the project.
- Facilitate experiential learning: help community groups reflect on, use & share the lessons learnt from their actions.
- Collaborate closely with the team on site (The Reformed Church of Transcarpathia) and with HEKS/EPER Romania throughout project implementation.
