  • Professional counselling camp in the project Labour-market inclusion for disadvantaged young adults in Romania

From 2-4 June 2022, Christian Foundation Diakonia Covasna with the support of HEKS/EPER Romania Foundation organized a professional counselling camp for vocational and professional education graduates from Covasna county.

In the camp, students participated in presentations and activities related to employment, how to choose the right profession and self-discovery.

On the first day, young people were able to prepare their dinner: a delicious hamburger in a culinary workshop led by Kolumbán Ábel, chef at Gado Gourmet Bistro.

Mr Makkai Péter, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and Reformed priest, discussed with the students hoe to choose a career in a religious context.

On the second day of the camp, interested young people were able to meet the owners of Royal Garden Studio in Sepsiszentgyörgy, Daczo Botond and Mike Botond, who introduced them to the services of the landscape architecture company. During a hands-on demonstration, they were also able to experience how an automatic irrigation system works.

During the Career Counselling Camp, young graduates met local entrepreneurs and their profession. Pál Hunor, co-owner of Press on Technology and Sepsi Ajándék gift shop, gave a very informative and interactive presentation to the students. Young people were able to get a real insight into a young local entrepreneur. After the presentation, with Hunor’s help, each participant was able to make their own custom t-shirt.

The young people were able to participate in a floristry workshop, where Kinga Orbán, co-owner of Florapost, showed the participants the tricks of flower arranging.

Orsolya Antal and Gyopár Holinka, employees of Iris House, gave a presentation about the company, during which interested young people could get an insight into the business world.
