After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, HEKS/EPER Romania has been actively involved in helping refugees in Romania by implementing emergency humanitarian aid activities with the support of local NGOs.
Within the framework of the UNHCR-funded project, job fairs for Ukrainian refugees were organized in various fields of interest such as HORECA, manufacturing, hospitality, IT and beauty. Job training workshops were also offered, and later a financing component was introduced to support start-ups of Ukrainian refugees in Cluj-Napoca. The project also included Romanian language courses, support for the educational costs of Ukrainian children, and vocational training in various fields, facilitating the integration and professional qualification of Ukrainian refugees.
