    • Launch of the Phase-Out Stage of the “Labour Market Inclusion of Disadvantaged Youth in Romania” Project

    Starting June 1, 2026, HEKS/EPER Romania launched the phase-out stage of the project “Labour Market Inclusion of Disadvantaged Youth in Romania”, implemented in Covasna County between June 1 and December 31, 2026.

    The activities will be carried out in partnership with the Christian Foundation Diakonia Sfântu Gheorghe, a trusted partner of HEKS/EPER Romania for over six years.

    The purpose of this stage is to resume support for students from the 2025–2026 cohort, whose activities were interrupted when the previous project ended in December 2025. By continuing career guidance and job mediation activities, we aim to support 8th grade students in choosing and continuing their educational path, and 11th grade students in vocational education in their transition to the labour market. At the same time, the project includes activities designed to strengthen the capacity of school staff to support students in vulnerable situations.

    The phase-out stage also contributes to ensuring the sustainability of the project results by supporting partner schools in using the resources developed during the previous phase. In this context, the use of the Online Library, which includes resources for 8th and 11th grade students and was made available to schools at the end of the previous project in December 2025, will be encouraged so that it becomes an integrated tool in school and career guidance activities.

    The direct beneficiaries of the project are 200 students from Covasna County coming from disadvantaged groups, including Roma students, orphans, children from single-parent families, children with disabilities or health issues, children from large families, and students from rural areas. Among them:

    • 100 are 8th grade students who will benefit from career guidance and counselling activities;
    • 100 are 11th grade students in vocational education who will benefit from information, counselling, and job mediation activities.

    In addition to supporting these 200 students, the project aims to:

    • ensure that at least 90 percent of 8th grade students continue their studies;
    • support the employment of at least 15 vocational education graduates;
    • develop the skills of at least 12 teachers and school staff members through targeted training activities.

    The main project activities include:

    • career guidance and counselling for 8th grade students through self-awareness activities, exploration of educational options, and support in choosing their educational path;
    • information and career counselling for 11th grade students on topics such as CV writing, job interview preparation, employee rights and responsibilities, employment opportunities, and professional development;
    • job mediation activities, including identifying suitable job opportunities and facilitating connections between graduates and employers;
    • the organization of a personal and professional development camp featuring career guidance workshops, mock interviews, meetings with company representatives, and financial education activities;
    • training for teachers and school staff in areas such as career counselling, anti-discrimination, collaboration with families, and supporting vulnerable students.

    Through this phase, we aim to ensure continuity of the interventions already started and to contribute to increasing access to education and employment opportunities for young people in vulnerable situations.
