Multi-sectoral emergency assistance for Ukrainian refugees in Romania and IDPs in Chernivtsi (2023)

In the context of a long-lasting military conflict in Ukraine and the refugee crisis triggered by it, our project has successfully achieved all its objectives to assist Ukrainians under temporary protection in Suceava, Romania, as well as internally displaced persons in the Chernivtsi region, according to their needs. The project was designed on the basis of a needs assessment conducted in April 2023 in Suceava and Chernivtsi, which revealed a growing need for educational and psycho-social services, but also a remaining need for material assistance in the form of cash, vouchers, as well as food and non-food items.

The project aimed both to meet immediate needs through the distribution of cash and vouchers to cover basic needs and to promote the long-term self-reliance and integration of beneficiaries. By facilitating employment opportunities and creating support groups, the aim was to reduce dependency on material support and encourage integration into the local community.
