Empower yourself with the language of opportunity – embark on your journey to learn Romanian and connect with your new community.
While there may be occasional similarities or loanwords due to historical interactions, Ukrainian and Romanian are fundamentally different languages. Ukrainians and Romanians may find it challenging to understand each other’s languages without prior exposure and study.
Ukrainian is typically written in the Cyrillic script, while Romanian uses the Latin alphabet. Transitioning from one script to another can be a challenge, but it’s not insurmountable.
But with dedication, proper resources, and practice, many Ukrainians can become proficient in Romanian.
Learn from Ukrainians that successfully learnt Romanian and navigated more easily in the Romanian environment. Through the project funded by UNCHR and with the support of our partener, Open Fields Foundation, more than 200 Ukrainians received free Romanian language courses. The most advanced Romanian speaking Ukrainians are those who took more than 60 hours of Romanian lessons and practiced almost every day, in working or social contexts.
