Working Visit in Sibiu as Part of the “From Education to Decent Work, Sibiu County” Project 

On 24 September 2025, Angela Elmiger, Head of Programme Europe / Middle East / Church Cooperation, together with the HEKS/EPER Romania team, carried out a working visit to Sibiu County, in the towns of Copșa Mică and Moșna, as part of the second phase of the “From Education to Decent Work, Sibiu County” project. 

The first activity took place at Nicolae Teclu Technological High School in Copșa Mică (Copșa-Sat area), where 8th-grade students participated in a group counselling session led by a school counsellor from Open Fields Foundation. Discussions focused on Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, through which students explored the diversity of intelligence types (linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic). The session highlighted the importance of knowing one’s own strengths and encouraged a positive, constructive attitude toward peers.

At Moșna School, two school mediators from Open Fields Foundation facilitated memory and self-awareness games for 5th-grade students. Using interactive and friendly methods, these activities contributed not only to improving concentration but also to understanding emotions and developing interpersonal skills. 

This visit highlighted the positive impact of the project: close collaboration with partner schools, the active involvement of teachers, and students’ openness to dialogue. In addition, the presence of guests from various fields at the counselling sessions and self-awareness activities helped boost students’ self-confidence, enhance their problem-solving skills and strengthen a positive attitude towards education and their future careers.
